Evolve Medical Associates is a trusted provider of wellness and aesthetic treatments in Charlotte, and you can rely on our trained medical professionals to deliver results that look natural and help you feel great, both inside and out. One of the most innovative aesthetic treatments we’re proud to offer is the Vampire Facial, a PRP treatment that promotes healthy skin. But what is PRP, and what makes a Vampire Facial so effective?
What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP is a treatment where a small amount of blood is taken from the patient, and the platelets in the blood are isolated and applied back into the skin to improve texture and tone. Platelets are a type of blood cell that contain rich growth factors, so PRP can also be used medically to help injuries heal faster. Since PRP uses your body’s own cells to promote healing, it helps increase collagen and elastin production for natural facial and skin rejuvenation. While having your blood drawn may seem like a bit much for a facial, our medical professionals at Evolve are trained to safely carry out this procedure.
Expert PRP Care
Our own founder, Dr. Donald Sudy, is a member of the American Cellular Cosmetic Medicine Association and is an authorized Vampire treatment provider, and is also an experienced emergency medicine physician. We also have a trained phlebotomist on-site to assist, so you can rest assured your PRP treatment is in the safest hands.
What is a Vampire Facial?
A Vampire Facial combines microneedling with PRP for a unique skin rejuvenation experience. Microneedling creates tiny, controlled wounds in the skin, which will trigger the body’s natural healing process and collagen production. The Vampire Facial takes this a step further.
After platelets are isolated from the patient’s blood, they are then applied topically to the freshly microneedled face, where they can penetrate deeper into the skin layers and provide an extra energy boost to collagen and elastin production for even more effective results.
Is a Vampire Facial Right for Me?
If your face is showing signs of aging — such as your skin becoming gray due to less blood flow, your skin texture becoming less smooth, and your face feeling droopy or worn — you may benefit from a Vampire PRP Facial, but this treatment is not right for everyone. When you come to Evolve Medical Associates for a consultation, we will get to know a little bit more about you, your lifestyle and medical history, and your skin care concerns in order to craft a treatment plan just for you.

Vampire Facial FAQs
Do Vampire Facials Hurt?
While you may feel a slight pinch when you get your blood drawn in order to isolate your platelets, Vampire Facials are about as painful as microneedling — which is to say, there is typically only a minor pricking sensation involved in the procedure, and topical numbing cream is used to minimize discomfort.
Is There Downtime for Vampire Facials?
Vampire Facials, like microneedling, are non-invasive and will result in some redness and irritation for a few days after treatment, but patients can return to most daily activities immediately afterwards.
When Will I See Vampire Facial Results?
Most patients will see results from a Vampire Facial within a week, with full results visible about one to two months after treatment as collagen production continues to improve the tone and texture of the skin over time.
How Long Will Results Last?
The results of a Vampire Facial can last anywhere from one to two years, but collagen production will eventually decrease as part of the body’s natural aging process. Vampire Facials can be performed as often as once every year for youthful, rejuvenated skin.
