First things first. Blood. That is where the “Vampire” part comes in. After I had my blood drawn it was then spun down in a centrifuge. This allows the blood to separate the Plasma from the red blood cells. While this magic is happening, I had an anesthetic cream applied to numb my face. So as I sit in the esthetician room and wait for my blood to spin down, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I was a little nervous about what it would feel like and the downtime after the procedure. I was curious to see how long it would take for the healing process to be complete.
Contrary to how it was portrayed by Kim Kardashian, The Vampire Facial was quick and painless and felt very similar to the pattern and pressure of the Microdermabrasion.
After a day of redness and about 3 days of dry, flakey skin, I was back to normal and my skin looked and felt amazing! One of the best things about this treatment is that it is great for all skin types. It can help to soften fine lines and wrinkles, reduce the appearance of acne scars as well as improve skin tone and texture from melasma. It can also reduce the appearance of stretch marks as well as stimulate new collagen growth so you can practically do it anywhere on your body.
So now, one week later, I could not be happier with my results. I feel like it has already made a significant difference in the acne scars I have on my chin and it will only continue to improve over the coming weeks.
I am really looking forward to my next treatment.
