Chemical peels are an effective skin rejuvenation treatment, but not every peel is the same. At Evolve, one of the peels we perform is a VI Peel in Charlotte, which can be used to address aging, hyperpigmentation, sunspots, damaged skin, acne-prone skin, and acne scarring.
How VI Peel Works
VI Peels represent the next generation in chemical peels, tackling skin problems at the cellular level. Unique from other peels, VI Peel produces dramatic, visible results in just days, with no pain and no downtime. VI Peel nurtures the skin with vitamins and minerals during the exfoliation process. This peel corrects acne, scarring, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles while improving the overall tone and texture of your skin.
All skin types are able to enjoy the benefits of the VI Peel, including darker skin tones. VI Peel requires no preconditioning of the skin, unlike earlier peels. VI Peel also provides you with a take-home kit of essential products for your treatment’s success, ensuring optimal and lasting results so you can enjoy feeling more confident in your skin.
What Will the VI Peel Do?
The VI Peel will:
- Improve the tone, texture, and clarity of your skin
- Reduce or eliminate age spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation, including melasma
- Soften lines and wrinkles
- Clear acne and reduce or eliminate acne scars
- Stimulate the production of collagen for firmer, more youthful skin
The VI Peel in Charlotte with Precision Plus is another VI Peel option we carry, specifically formulated to treat sunspots and pigmented skin. It reduces the appearance of age spots, brightens even the most stubborn areas of discoloration, and smooths away rough skin texture.

VI Chemical Peels FAQs
Is There Downtime for a VI Peel?
Normal activities can be resumed immediately after the peel. We ask that the solution is left on the skin for five hours before washing it off. Exercise with excessive sweating is not recommended within the first 4 days after the application of the peel.
When Will My Skin Start to Peel?
The skin peeling associated with VI Peel in Charlotte is a light, fluffy peel that will start on day three and is generally finished by the end of day four. The peeling is easily hidden by moisturizer, but in some cases is virtually invisible. Makeup should not be applied on days that the skin is peeling, only moisturizer. Makeup can then be resumed any time after the skin has peeled completely.
Can I Go in the Sun After VI Peel?
The only days where we recommend seriously avoiding sun exposure are days three and four, when the skin is peeling, to avoid side effects like pigmentation. After that, you can enjoy moderate sun exposure, making sure to always wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30.
How Often Do I Need a VI Peel?
VI Peels in Charlotte are a maintenance treatment, not a one-and-done. For most patients, peels should be done three to four times per year to repair sun damage that is already present, and to avoid permanent scarring for those affected by acne. The frequency of the peel depends on a variety of factors, including your skin type and goals.
